Thailand: We guarantee the return flight reimbursement for 10 month participants who start the program in May only. In some cases it can be arranged for those who start on October, but it depends on the school and their relationship with the participant.

If you purchase a specially discounted airfare from our travel provider, STA Travel, you will also receive:
Free International Student Identity Card (ISIC) or International Youth Travellers Card IYTC (if eligible), which entitles you to discounts on entertainment and travel while you are overseas
Free password protected ‘Web wallet’ which allows you to keep track of your budget and itinerary and store important information like credit card and passport numbers, etc.

What’s not included?

  • Return airfare to Thailand or China (if you successfully complete a continuous 10 month placement your host institution will pay the return portion of your airfare)
  • Visa fees (payable directly to the Embassy)
  • In country incidental expenses

Payment Schedule

  1. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required when you submit your application
  2. A further $500 is due within 10 days after notification of your acceptance on to the program
  3. The balance of the program fee is due 6 weeks prior to departure

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations will only be accepted in writing and will be effective at the date received by Student Placement Australia Pty Ltd. Refunds will be made according to the following schedule:

  1. If your application does not meet our eligibility criteria you will be refunded in full less the A$100 non-refundable deposit.
  2. If you withdraw from the program:
    After acceptance but before placement you will be refunded in full less $250 plus the A$100 non-refundable deposit.
    After a placement has been offered you will be refunded in full less $500 plus the A$100 non-refundable deposit.
    Within 3 weeks of scheduled departure no refund applies.
  3. Should you fail to complete your contract in Thailand or China no refund applies.
  4. If you are refused a visa you will be refunded in full less the A$100 non-refundable portion. If, however, the refusal to issue a visa is the result of information not previously disclosed to Student Placement Australia Pty Ltd no refund will be given.
