Sports Scholarships USA
Your Visa
Students attending the International Showcase do
not require a visa if they are eligible for the visa
waiver program. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for the visa
waiver program you must obtain a tourist visa B1/B2 from the US consulate.
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables nationals of certain countries, including
Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K., to travel to the United States for tourism
or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa, if certain
requirements are met. Under the VWP, time spent in Canada, Mexico, and adjacent
islands counts towards the maximum of 90 days stay allowed under the program.
To apply for a visa waiver to travel to the US please visit the following
website U.S.
Customs and Border Protection - Travel.
You are required to print off your visa waiver confirmation. This approval
will be required at check-in for your flight to the US.
If, after attending the International Showcase, the candidate accepts a Scholarship
offer and decide to study in the USA, the host institution will send an I-20
Form (required by the U.S.A. Embassy) to obtain the student visa.
Obtaining the visa remains the sole responsibility of the student although
you will receive assistance from ourselves and IDEA throughout this process.
In the event a visa application is declined a refund policy applies.
