Application Process

Step 1: Return the documents below to SPA with your A$250 deposit.

	Program Application Form
	CV (resume) indicating academic and extra-curricular activities (athletics, arts, or others).
	High school transcript (original or certified copy)
	High school grade average (per year and cumulative)
	Two letters of recommendation from your high school or college
	Personal essay including the following items (maximum of two pages): Why do I feel I deserve a Scholarship? What are my objectives in the USA? What are my plans after completing my education?

Step 2: SPA will undertake a preliminary review of your application and arrange a phone interview with. The interview helps to:

	Find out more about you as a person and to understand your interests and aspirations.
	identify your sporting interests, experience and abilities
	review your academic status and major(s) of interest
	explain the program in detail
	give you (and your parents) a chance to ask questions

Step 3: If successful, we will write to you confirming your acceptance on to the program and enclose our invoice for the balance of the program fee.

Step 4: On receipt of final payment SPA submits your complete student file to IDEA headquarters in the USA and the search for suitable Scholarships begins.

Step 5: Within 30 days of receiving the complete student file IDEA will inform SPA of your scholarship offers. SPA will send this information to you immediately upon receipt.

Step 6: Acceptance of a specific Scholarship offer must be made within 20 days of receipt of the offer. Upon formal acceptance of a Scholarship offer, all other Scholarship offers lapse at that point.

Step 7: The admissions process begins. IDEA staff will stay in touch and assists until you receive the I-20 immigration form. From that point you remain in direct contact with the university admissions counsellor to coordinate items such as payments and airport pickup etc.
